Streets Scheduled for Construction:
Full road replacement will be performed on Lyndover Ave. (from Roseland Terrace to Bellevue Ave.) and on Richmond Place (from Sutton Blvd. to Oakview Terrace).
Full road replacement will entail the complete removal and reconstruction of the road and most of the sidewalks and drive aprons. Where asphalt overlay work will be performed, streets will be milled, inadequate pavement will be addressed and a new asphalt overlay will be installed. The city may replace drive aprons to aid the flow of gutters along the street when necessary.
Asphalt overlay work will be performed on Richmond Place (from Bellevue Ave. to Oakview Terrace), Bruno (from Bellevue Ave. to the city limits), Sutton Blvd (from Gayola Place to the city limits) and the south halves of Lyndover Place and Lohmeyer Avenue (from Big Bend Blvd. to Sutton Blvd), on Oakland Ave. (from Manchester Rd. to the southern end of Oakland Ave.), Comfort Ave. (from Oakland Ave. to Laclede Station Rd.), Burgess Ave. (from Comfort Ave. to the newly poured concrete) and Florent Ave. (from Rannells Ave. to Jerome Ave.).
Where asphalt overlay work will be performed, streets will be milled, inadequate pavement will be addressed, and a new asphalt overlay will be installed. Isolated concrete slabs may have to be replaced prior installing the new asphalt overlay. Some sidewalk and accessible ramps will also be constructed. The city may replace drive aprons to aid the flow of gutters along the street when necessary.
Street Access During Construction:
During construction, one lane of the road will be closed and traffic will be posted as a one-way street. The work will be done in multiple phases to minimize traffic issues and maintain access to multi-tenant buildings but will generally be on one side until complete and then switched to the other side. There will be occasions where the road is temporarily blocked while trucks are being loaded and unloaded but we will try and keep delays to an absolute minimum.
Parking During Construction:
Please use the alternative local streets for parking or, if possible, make arrangements to share a driveway with your neighbor. Parking on the street during construction will be restricted during construction so please look for posted “No-Parking” signs.
Trash and Recycling Services During Construction:
Trash and recycling services will continue during the construction so please continue to take your containers to the curb as you normally would. There is no need to enter the construction area. Please contact city hall at 645-3600 if your trash or recycling is not picked up.
